I came to Michael hoping he could help alleviate the pain I was having in my left arm and our first meeting was such a success that I remember crying with joy that there was hope. I am not taking as many pain killers as I was. It was my doctor that suggested acupuncture and I am grateful for that. I am scheduled for surgery at the end of this month and the treatments and herbs I am taking have been a very big help in doing every day’s work. I was not able to do many things before Michael’s treatments. He has helped me more than I expected. I would urge anyone who needs help to make an appointment as soon as they can. I hope this will urge you to give it a try! – Thank you.

I originally came to Michael for neck pain from a muscle spasm probably related to spinal misalignment. It was much relieved after two treatments and is no longer a major problem after four. Michael treated other pains that I had and all have been relieved. But to me, one of the greatest benefits of the acupuncture treatments is the effect they have had on my mood and mental ability. They have helped me greatly on my job as I have more energy, focus, and concentration. On a daily basis, my mood is better and I feel better every day. In addition to what I mentioned above about the better energy, etc, one of the most welcome results of the treatments have been serenity in my life that I had never experienced. I recommend Michael’s acupuncture treatments to all friends and family and encourage everyone to take advantage of their great benefits.

I have been going to Michael for acupuncture for the last 3 months. At the time, I started, I was at a low, both physically and mentally. Over the last few years, both of my parents were sick and died. I also had other major things going on in my life. Physically, I had high blood pressure, was overweight, and had a lot of muscle and joint pain. Since coming for acupuncture, my blood pressure has been reduced to an average of 120/76. This is the first time in my adult life to have normal blood pressure! Plus, I have lost 12 lbs without any struggle! I also find my mood is much more relaxed and I am enjoying and appreciating life much more. Thanks Michael!

When I was referred to Michael for acupuncture, my daughter’s wedding was less than two months away. I wanted to be my best self for her, but I was physically depleted and depressed. After my first session, I felt a shift. I began to look forward to the peace and serenity of the clinic and to the gentleness of Michael’s treatment. By the time of the wedding, my energy and appetite had returned, and I felt more alive than I ever had in months. I am grateful to both Michael and Carole for the healing atmosphere they have created for their patients.

About ten years ago, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease which affected my central nervous system and left me with no feeling from the waist down. My legs were no longer like legs; they were lumpy and quite painful. Western medicine and the rheumatologist offered no solution. Acupuncture was the only alternative that granted any freedom from pain and mobility restoration. Two years later, my gynecologist discovered a prolapsed of my rectum and uterus; his only solution was surgery. However, for the past eight years acupuncture has staved off any surgical procedure so effectively that my new gynecologist says, “Keep on doing whatever you are doing because ‘it’ is working.” Of course, the ‘it’ is acupuncture. Through the years I have moved several times and with each move I have been blessed to find very competent acupuncturists. I am now under Dr. Michael Goopta’s loving care. My walking is much improved, the prolapse continues to maintain stability, and the psoriasis, of some 48 years, which had been fairly dormant until a stressful last year, has noticeably subsided. Dr. Goopta is not only a most thoughtful and highly competent acupuncturist, but also a healer with patience, extraordinary listening skills, and genuine concern and caring for the well being of his patients.

I’ve had a chronic sinus infection and had been dreading spring allergy season because that typically worsens the condition. I’ve had acupuncture treatments (I think 5) over a two-month period and have had the best “allergy season”, I can remember. For the past five years, I had taken Claritin & sometimes a prescription allergy nasal spray, but this year I needed no allergy medicines. Acupuncture has been the only change in my routine. I was surprised, to be honest, that it made such a difference!

I came to the clinic for treatment of Crohn’s disease, a lump in my breast that was mutated by the mammogram machine, a sore on my arm that would not heal, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and stress. My first experience was incredible – I left so relaxed and stress free that I forgot to pay for the services! The results have been improved digestion, assimilation and elimination. The sore on my arm is now healing. My legs and ankles no longer swell. My energy level has improved and I am much more relaxed and happy.

I have never tried acupuncture, and although I have always been terrified of needles (hypodermic), my health was declining. I did not know that I had a virus and one that has no cure. Dr. Michael said, when I told him of my fear, “you are a brave woman!” His calm manner and gentle spirit was enough for me to go ahead with my first treatment. I came from that first time feeling that my body was healing from inside out! The many treatments since then are allowing me to heal, not just physically but in my spiritual, mental, and emotional health as well. My training as a pharmacy technician and many years working in conventional medicine and all the years using those venues as a patient never gave me the kind of feeling that my health was improving, as with acupuncture. Never before has a health care professional given me such kind, caring and overall concern as Dr. Michael. Thank you Dr. Michael, for all that you do for others like me.

After being diagnosed with multiple conditions including diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia I was desperate for relief from my chronic pain. No medications had made a significant difference and after seeking alternative therapies, I found acupuncture. After a few treatments my pain was relieved enough to do the things I enjoyed again: hiking, camping and was able to go back to school. Michael Goopta is generous with his time and concern for his patients health and improvement. He has a light touch and I highly recomend him as an acupuncturist. After my first treatment I noticed an increase in energy and a decrease in my pain, anxiety and stress.

The 7th of August we had our Sunday School class over for a covered dish dinner. (My yard was immaculate, my house was immaculate, but my lower back pain was excruciating.) The next week, we had our 11 year old grandson for a week. Also, a urologist had also told me a couple of weeks prior that I had a blockage and was scheduled to have a cystoscopy in September. The first time I went to Michael was August 14, and I limped into his office as I was in so much lower back pain. I continued to see Michael a couple times a week, and when I went for the cystoscopy on September 10, there was no blockage. Also, I cannot begin to tell you how much Michael has helped me with my lower back pain. I am on less pain medication and my energy level has increased. Michael had 5 years of acupuncture schooling to be an acupuncturist. His office is in his home which is off Old 421 where 421 comes into Old 421 at the first traffic light and Food Lion 5 miles from Boone. Acupuncture is not as painful as you might believe

I find Michael Goopta's acupuncture treatments to be very soothing and healing experiences. He has a light, smooth needle technique and the interesting ability to vary the kinds of healing tools he combines with acupuncture. I really enjoy the calm atmosphere of his treatment room also and always feel relaxed and refreshed after his treatments.
